This morning an
Elegant Tern was found at Reid Park only 7 miles away from my home. When I arrived it was hanging out and caught a couple fish. Two weeks ago, one was also found at Patagonia Lake. It's a rare bird for AZ with only 15 previous records. It's even more rare for Pima County. I hope it survives the forecasted 104 degree heat!
What a surprise! And of course, where am I? In Phoenix! This is only two blocks away from our house! I'm glad you saw it though. Maybe it will be there next week? :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully it'll stick around, it's been catching lots of fish!
DeleteSuper find!
ReplyDeleteOf course I'm out of state!
One person suggested that it's the same bird seen earlier this week at Patagoinia Lake based on the weird orange coloring on the back of its knees, crazy!
